Editorial policy
JellyGGumi is a personal publication maintained by INa's parent, living in Korea. It combines two kinds of work: practical English-language guides to Korean culture and daily life, and a family record made from our own writing and photographs. Those two kinds of page do not use exactly the same evidence, so this policy explains what a reader should expect from each.
Who is responsible
The site owner decides what is published and is responsible for corrections. JellyGGumi is not a government agency, travel company, medical provider or professional advisory service. A lived observation can explain how something usually works, but it does not replace a current rule from the organisation that operates it.
How AI is used
AI assists research organisation, outlining and early drafting on this English-language site. AI output is never treated as a source. It can write a confident sentence that is incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, so factual claims must be checked against a source that is independent of the generated draft.
AI is not used to invent a personal visit, a purchase, a family event, a quotation or a photograph. Personal diary pages come from the family's own record. Where an English article is adapted from an earlier Korean post on our Naver Blog, the original post is linked so readers can see the source and publication date.
Source order for practical guides
When a guide depends on a rule or a changing service, sources are preferred in this order:
- the public body or operator responsible for the rule, service or place;
- a national or municipal tourism organisation;
- a recognised cultural, linguistic or academic institution;
- first-hand observation, clearly described as experience rather than a universal rule.
Commercial travel summaries and search snippets can help locate a topic, but they are not enough to establish a fact on their own. Sources used for a guide are listed at the end of that article. A source link shows what was checked; it does not mean the source endorses JellyGGumi's interpretation.
Dates and changing details
Publication dates identify when an article entered the journal. A separate “reviewed” date is shown when a guide has been checked again. Prices, timetables, opening hours, admission rules, transport products and app requirements can change without notice. For those details, the linked operator remains the final authority.
The journal prefers explaining a process over freezing a price that will soon be wrong. When a precise changing detail is necessary, the article should name the date on which it was checked.
Corrections
Corrections are welcome. Please send the page URL, the sentence in question and the best supporting source through the contact page. A factual correction is made in the article rather than hidden in a separate comment thread, and the reviewed date is updated when the change is material.
Photographs, recommendations and advertising
Family photographs belong to the site owner unless a caption says otherwise. They may not be reused without permission. English adaptations omit an identifiable child's face, third-party faces, medical measurements and private addresses unless there is a clear editorial reason and consent to include them.
A personal recommendation is labelled as experience. JellyGGumi does not accept new paid-placement or link-insertion requests. If an older Korean diary entry was originally created after a product or service was provided, its English adaptation opens with that disclosure, removes campaign tracking links and is edited independently. Advertising is kept separate from editorial decisions and is limited to substantial article pages rather than navigation, search, gallery or game screens.
